Powering Up
Thursday, August 23rd, 2007This has been one of those days. Our church, along with several other churches in town has sponsored a Power Teamevent, and so we are right in the middle of it, being responsible for helping with the assemblies at the schools, as well as what they do at night at the High School. The phone at the church this morning rang off the hook. If it wasn’t Gordon calling, it was someone for Gordon. Or someone needing me to do something, or… plus then, of course, the regular normal phone calls we would get on a typical day.It is a 5 day crusade. I don’t know if I will attend all 5 nights, but I will go to the majority of them. What they do is amazing. But what is even more amazing is the message, and how they get the schools on board with it, even though it delivers a Christian message.I don’t think we are going to camp this weekend. We won’t be home tomorrow night (Friday), because we’ll be at the school for the Power Team. Ethan has to work 8:30-12:30 and then back at 4:30-closing on Saturday. And we don’t know what his schedule is for Sunday. So, he wouldn’t be there for breakfast, or supper … and even though I love camping, I’m not sure I want to do it all by myself. Even though we have a family reunion planned for the next Saturday, which is Labor Day weekend, we could still drag the camper out to the lake — I’m pretty sure other family members will be camping that weekend as well — sleep out there Friday night, attend the reunion Saturday, and then still camp Sunday and Monday. That would work. But I just don’t think its worth the effort to do it this weekend. And there is alot of things that should be done at home. I need to work on them, and then be able to camp the next weekend, guilt free! Sounds like a plan to me.
