Keeping Up With Him
I need to get David’s prescriptions written down in my book. His doctor just added another one to the lot. That makes 5, plus ibuprofen 3 times a day. But until he gets this joint/arm pain straightened out, he had probably do what his doctor tells him to do. As with my aunt, there came a time I needed to take her to the ER, and when asked what meds she took, I couldn’t tell them. And that is an awful feeling, because it slows down the whole process while they are tracking down the information. Having that information in hand needs to happen, if at all possible. And there is no reason why I can’t have that information with me about David. He is taking way too many pills now that I can’t be indifferent to it, and just assume he’s going to live forever.
He’s taking meds for his blood sugar levels, his blood pressure, his cholosteral. As well as Potassium to offset one of the meds he takes. And now his doctor wants him to take 3 ibuprofen 3 times a day to help ease the pain he is feeling in his arms and joints. Something is wrong, but they don’t know what. And because we don’t have insurance, his doctor is trying to proceed cautiously and not rack up a bunch of tests that may or may not tell him what is wrong. So, we wait, and experiment. And hopefully, somewhere along the line, he gets better.

Hi Carolyn!
Just popped by to check on David. Still praying for him - heck, for BOTH of you! I smiled when I saw he’s trying to be your weight loss/get-healthy buddy. Mitch did the same thing this spring after my surgery. He began bike riding in earnest, broke is arm in June, but got back on the bike and has lost 20 pounds and knocked his blood pressure down. I’m very proud of him. Take a deep breath, rest, and have a wonderful weekend. Remember, Autumn begins Sunday ![]()

I just found your comment !! The Dr changed my insulin and I ran out of samples today and they called it in ONLY it was in a insulin pen!! I am stressed about this because this is harder then giving myself shots the old way!! I hope I can remember how she told me to do this in the morning!! I do go to the Dr in the morning so I think I’ll take it with and they can walk me through this again…….. I just hope my blood sugars aren ‘t to high…….
when I was at the post office the clerk who I have known since he was a kid Said Carolyn, like I tell my Mom Eat less and Walk more!! I said well thank you Dr……… But I think there probably is something to that!!
I hope you can get every thing going ok with David….
Love and Hugs Carolyn

Hello my friend, I’m back from visiting Canada and seeing my precious grand baby. I really think you need to jot down all of David’s medications on a 3×5 card so you can have them if you ever need them in an emergence. I put my meds and Mr. Wonderful’s on a card and carry it in my wallet.
Hugs and prayers for David…we don’t have insurance either so I know what you are going through.
