Living A Much More Purposeful Life In The New Year

What’s the single most important thing you could do to improve the quality of your family life this year?  In a word?  decluttering.   Going through the house and getting it under control.  Decluttering.  Without all the stuff sitting around, it would feel less chaotic and more like a home, rather than the house where we live.  When I was visiting a friend of mine a couple weekends ago, as I visually took her house in, that was the thing that I noticed.   There were books in the bookcase, the fireplace, and the couch.  That was it.  Not a bunch of stuff sitting around, or on the end table.  Very clean, very clutter free.  And it was pretty much like that all the way throughout the house.  She did have personal stuff on the walls, and it just had a very homey feel to it.  But.  Its so overwhelming here.  And I don’t know where to start.  And getting the rest of the family to help … well, probably ain’t going to happen.  But regardless, I need to start someone.  One little bite at a time.   Little by little would make a huge difference in the end, and there wouldn’t be these feelings of “living like this” among us.  Put that in place, and everything else will fall into place.
