Serenity

Next Sunday is busy. Besides being Labor Day weekend, and camping with the family, I also have a Luncheon Baby Shower to attend, right after Morning Worship. We have published a list of suggested but they are so generic — I would like to do something different. Since this is their second child, I’m sure they already have some crib bedding; but I know when my kids were little, you never seemed to have too much. Constantly doing laundry, and then when their little diapers leaked, off came the bedding, and new back on.

But crib bedding goes beyond that now. I just love looking at all the cute uphostered items moms have used to decorate the nursery. My mom made a matching bassinette sheet and blanket set that had a bunny on it, and then she also made a diaper stacker, with a cute bunny head, and then the body was where you stacked the diapers. And, while it was cute and had sentimental value to it, it doesnt’ compare to what you can buy for the nursery today. Bumper pads keep your child safe from bumping their heads. Today, manufacturers are making their products to be functional, but also durable, and able to grow with your child, all the while, looking good and part of the decor you have picked out for your new bundle of joy.

So, I have a week to decide if I’m going to go with the traditional diapers and wipes for the shower, or to get her a gift certificate for some awesome bedding.
